Couldn't have asked for a better season than this one. Spent a lot of time in the woods and had some of my best hunts ever, watching first time kills, and first time tag outs. Probably the best part of this season was watching my dad tag out for the first time and break his dry spell of not killing a long beard since 2002. He actually was excited to go after birds this season and I think he has caught the bug of spring turkey season.
Only 327 days to go til we do it again, and yes I know its sooner if you fall turkey hunt (greyghost, you will not convince me to shoot one in the fall!!!hahaha).
Yesterday when I hunted with some friends trying for one last bird, we were walking out of the woods and through a field with about knee high grass when a hen flushed about 10 feet from us. Thinking she had a nest we got closer to where she was and instead of eggs we saw about 8 poults scatter into the tall grass. Looked to be a few day to maybe a week old, so hopefully with this warm weather and if the rain will hold off we will have a good good hatch.

Congrats on the awesome season. I plan on coming to Virginia next season to do some gobbler hunting. It will be here before you know it.
