I bought a box at Walmart for $5.00 and was wondering if anyone had good results with patterns? If so, for $5.00 I may go back ang buy the rest
Yes, for a regular lead shell I've got great hunting patterns out of them in more than one set up and have killed multiple birds with the #5's. At $5 a box you can't go wrong, well worth it. Federal makes them.
My 870 and a ventilator choke love the 3.5in 6 shot. I have enough stocked up for many years
I've got a Stoeger M3500 and it liked the federal turkey thugs #6 shot just as good the winchester longbeard #6 shot. I shot both at 40 yards and there wasn't a lot of difference between them. For $5.00 a box you can't go wrong. I would go back and buy the rest of them for that.
I have run the thugs through about 5 different choke combos and to me they are not worth the 5 bucks a box. Winchester longbeards make them look like #8's out of a modified.
I just bought 70 dollars worth for around 35 dollars.. they shot great .. for that price you can use them for sighting in your gun...etc...but they also had all brands from 3.50 box to 7 dollars.. they had some 2 oz. Loads for 7 dollars a box.
That's a good price. I stocked up on them.
pretty good for cheap lead I think I got (110-130 3" #5s), shells are just the last place I'll go cheap on for hunting.
They shoot good out of my Mossburg, I stocked up on 3 and 3 1/2 inch shells last year but if they have some left over this year I'll get some more
No one in these post were saying they were going cheap on these hunting shells. They had all brands on sell because its the end of turkey season they had Remington, Winchester and Federal...for the price you can use these shells for lots of things... but if you want. To shot a 4 to 5 dollar shell that's fine also all the time...lol
I bought 9 boxes when they dropped them to $5 a box here, the next day they dropped them to $3.50 a box and I bought 10 boxes of 3-1/2 #6.
I probably won't hunt with them but I can't pass a steal on ammo
