I have an 835 Turkey Gun with the thumbhole stock. The stock and fore arm are wood (camo dipped). This gun is 8 years or so old. I don't think they still make the thumbhole stocks but thought they did until a year or two ago. Are the newer ones synthetic? I'm thinking about replacing assuming the synthetic parts are lighter.

Most of the wooden thumbhole stocks for several manufacturers were made by Boyd's. Gander Mountain offers the 500 and 835 with a thumbhole stock. Any stock that will fit a 500 will also fit the 835. You may want to check with them and see if it's wooden or synthetic.
