Title: One step closer
Post by: mdtkyhntr on March 27, 2011, 12:17:32 AM
To completing my slam. Tagged a nice pair of Rio's on a three day hunt in Texas last week. I love that no matter the species there are certain things that never change. I need my Osceola to complete the slam and hope to go after them next year.

Thanks everyone. Those gobbles can be drowned out by that Texas wind, but there are a lot of birds. Also seems like they like the box call a lot more than they do back east. There was a lot of roost gobbling, but they got pretty quiet once they hit the ground. I don't think the hens have started nesting much, and there's no point in gobbling when you're already surrounded by hens. I was hunting on private land.
