Title: I'm hungry!
Post by: Tunaguy on May 07, 2015, 10:19:42 AM
Now that I have some nice turkey breasts in my freezer, does anyone have a good recipe? Grilled, oven, stewed, smoked?

Thanks Tunaguy

Sliced and fried... also if you haven't tried it turkey jerky is the best stuff... just make it like deer jerky..

I like to cut the meat into chunks and marinate it in Lawry's Cajun marinade.  Then I put a slice of jalapenos on each side of the meat and wrap a piece of bacon around it, put a toothpick through it to hold it together and grill it on the BBQ.  Good stuff, plus, my wife and daughter love it as well.  Fried turkey nuggets are really good as well.

+1 for smoking. I inject mine with tony's creole butter & rub with cavender's. 2 hours on the grill at 200* with hickory for smoke, then wrap in foil with lemon water and finish in the oven.

I also use it in a good chicken noodle soup recipe.

Grilled with your favorite seasoning. Like Tony Chacheres creole.

Before grilling I slice and pound the meat to about 1/2" thick and shake up a little water, olive oil, salt and pepper in a ziploc and the put the turkey in the bag to marinate for just a little bit.

Ate really good last night, a buddy caught the big trout and we grilled and fried stuff and had a few drinks. (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/08/4a8d32146722c1a27b9f10de5d6acdf2.jpg) (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/08/65054d4fad34aa246cd413810b6d4f6f.jpg)

Being from Mississippi, you already know my answer. Cut against the grain in thick nuggets. Put in container and salt and pepper till you can see it! Shake in self rising flour and deep fry at 350 for 3-5 minutes. Have biscuits ready at the same time you get thru with the brown gravy. No need for all these fancy smancy recipes.
