I don't know about you guys, but all I have been seeing are jakes!
These are not tiny jakes either! These are big birds that are weighing in at over 17 lbs!
Crazy! All I can attribute it to was a very early hatch last spring.
I don't shoot them, but I wish I could get onto a tom!
That's great news. Enjoy them next year!

My thoughts exactly! Should be awesome next spring!
Same here.. I started a thread almost exactly like this last night.
I watched a pretty good jake fight on the second day of our season, 3 on 2. A couple of these birds had 6-8" beards but had the classic short tail feathers so I knew they were juveniles.
Saturday was the opener of PA and I've never encountered so many big jakes. Next year should be awesome!
Yep two year olds are fun to hunt!
Good problem to have, I guess. I've hunted about 20 days between NC and KY, haven't seen a jake yet. Very odd, i'm worried about next year...

I am not complaining about them. They have ran all the gobblers off of one of my favorites places. But I saw 26 opening week together and the thought of that in the next few years....outstanding
Everyday that passes is one day closer to next season.
