What are good public lands in SC upstate for turkey hunting? I've got a few tags left for SC and might make the drive if there are any good suggestions?
Probably have better luck burning a little gas, not to be a jerk but doubt anyone is going to give you their spots. We all learned by doing, not asking
Not asking for hand holding or a guided hunt. Just which game lands in upstate SC are worth exploring.
I hear crickets
^^ He told you that he wasn't trying to be a jerk man.
It is too late in the season to be asking those questions and he gave you a dead honest answer. This time of year, guys ain't going to tell you squat...plus, with that answer you probably just guaranteed it that you'll get no responses.

No clue who he is but did send a nice pm calling me a jerk and saying how he's from out of state. I'll hardly tell my buddies anything valid.. There is plenty places, most not too good though . goodluck OP, maybe some one will write you a pm and tell you how and where there might be a turkey in SC.
The internet has ruined turkey hunting in the Upstate of SC. Public Land is pretty much unsafe.
The turkeys aren't consistently gobbling, for the most part, they won't work, the past two years have been terrible.

....usually when people start a sentence with "not trying to be _______, but" they intend to follow that up by being _______. If you don't tell your buddies anything then was it even necessary to reply in the first place.
Hunting in the upstate has been terrible this year. Not much gobbling at all and a lot more hunters than past years. If you are really hard pressed and need a place to go, you can get maps from DNR of all the public areas. Any of the areas may hold birds. It just takes a lot of walking and scouting to find them.
