Title: Federal HW 7 velocity

Just curious if anyone has ran the HW 3" 1.5 oz 20ga loads over a chronograph thru a short barrel.  Federal's advertised MV of 1100 fps is achieved with a 30" barrel. I'm wanting to know what approximate MV would be out of my daughter's 870 compact Jr with an 18.75" barrel.

Subsonic. Id bet around 980. Just figuring that federal most likely rounded up to get their 1100fps. So in reality it was probably  1080ish. 12" less barrel....may be worth 100fps....

  I haven't had any issues out of my 21" barrel, at least out to 43 yards.

they will kill as far as you "need " to be shooting at a turkey

That's all I need to know. Patterns are great out to 40yds. I just wanted to be sure I still had enough energy to cleanly take a bird with that short barrel.
