I've seen a lot of people on here saying they prefer the tactical tatr 2 over the 3 anyone tell me why ...
?
I just bought the 3 two weeks ago and absolutely love the best. Its extremely simple and has just enough pockets for everything that I carry. One box call, one slate call, room for gloves, facemask and bullets and a pocket for your favorite mouth calls. Hard to beat it for the price!
I just happened to run across this today D Nap.

I prefer the 3. Better fit not as bulky. Like the pocket layout and back pad more. Has shell loops. Just wish the straps we brown like the 2 instead of black.
:turkey2:Another vote for the III
Both are good vests. The 2 has more storage area if that's important to you. I agree the 3 would look better with brown or maybe green straps.
Does anyone know if there is a weight difference between them? I hunted all last season in a Tater 2 and liked everything but the weight. It was as heavy or heavier than my Super Elite. Is the 3 any lighter?
the 2 is a great vest but can get hot and heavy loaded up.
Load up any vest with all the stuff we carry & it will get heavy. The Tactical Tater 2 has some padding in the back to cushion your back a little when leaning against a tree. It's hotter but more comfortable to me. Don't think the Super Elite has any so that's why it's probably cooler & maybe a little lighter. I bought the Tater 3 first & sent it back & exchanged it for the 2 mostly because the 3 didn't fit me as well & I wanted more storage space. The 3 is a taller vest than the 2. The 2 cost more because of all the zippered pockets for storage. I've had all three & liked the 2 the best but everyone looks for different things in a vest & hunters are not all built the same so one might suite you better than another brand. I would sure change some things in the 2 to make it more suitable for my liking but right now it's my favorite of all the vests I've tried. I'm always looking for something better. Good luck with whatever you go with.
