Title: Advice on AL late season hunt.
Post by: Kyjared on April 20, 2015, 07:58:57 PM
Hey everyone, been lurking for a while and thought I would join the fun. I am heading to Central AL this weekend for a 3 day hunt on family land. It's about 45 acres, was logged 4 years ago and no one has used it for 40 years.

Anyone have experience with late season Bama birds? I am not really sure what to expect, if anything different from ky hunting.

Any advice helps! Thanks.

Hopefully some of it wasn't logged because if everything was clear cut 4 yrs ago you are going to be dealing with a mess now. I had a beautiful spot for years that was clear cut about 8 yrs ago and it's basically been unhuntable for the past 6... hopefully that wont' be what you find. If so, get some local WMA maps and don't waste the trip! Good luck.
