Title: Started shooting the place up
Post by: TauntoHawk on April 20, 2015, 11:29:57 AM
With the Canon

Most of my hunting ground access is several hours away, and since scouting is half the fun I tend to scout areas I have no plans to hunt for the enjoyment of just hearing the woods wake up and getting to be outside. After a few cool encounters this spring it struck me that I should be carrying my camera instead of binoculars to keep the moments.

These birds are on small very high pressure section of public but right now the woods are empty of people and the birds are doing their thing. Yesterday I didn't have much time before church but these guys were right where I thought they might be and I was able to slip in and out without them knowing.

Sorry for the pic quality, I have to downsize them so much to post they never come out like they are on my computer in high res.

Yeah I noticed that right away too, I got a good look at his spurs and he appeared to just be a 2yr old and was mostly shadowing the other bird. Never got a look at his legs as I dont think he ever came out of strut while he was in sight.
