Title: Central Kansas/Nebraska area 2nd week in May
Post by: RS on April 16, 2015, 11:09:42 AM
I'll be hunting north central Nebraska on some private land for a couple of days the 1st part of that week and will have a few days before I have to head home. I was thinking of then heading south and trying to look up some old acquaintances in central Kansas just south of the Nebraska border and also trying some public land in that area in either or both states.  Would it be too late in the season for that area, or would the turkeys still be gobbling? Or, would it be better to stay in northern Nebraska during that time period? Thanks for any suggestion you may be able to give.

From my experience, second week of May would be just about right for any of those areas you mentioned.

I hear of people stacking them up in those states all the way up till Memorial Day.

Late season in Kansas can be awesome.  My favorite time.  Fewer hunters and hot birds.
