Post by: SKFOOTER on April 15, 2015, 11:49:06 PM
Headed up towards the Poplar Bluff area this weekend for the Monday opener.  Any gobbling and what's the foliage like? :OGturkeyhead:

Not sure about down south but up here in the Northeast things are looking great. A lot of gobblers around this year.

I also hunt in the SE part of the state. Was told the youth hunt was a tough go, birds gobbled on the roost and were done when they flew down. Very little or no foliage as  yesterday.

Should be for prime in the next two weeks.
I leave home Sunday morning for two weeks in Texas and Shannon Counties.

I am in Southwest Missouri.  The birds here have split up out of their winter flocks within the past week and a half.  Been seeing a ton of jakes. This year should be good and next year should be better.

Everything is getting green and the gobblers are starting to get more vocal during the morning. Starting to see hens in fields by themselves, possibly looking to nest. It ought to be good this year. Left them gobbling at 8:40 Sunday.
