I would like some advice I just acquired a Winchester 1300 nwtf 12ga with a 18' barrel with a factory x-long range / x-full choke lead only wondering what ammo and choke suit this gun . Thanks in advance
I have the same gun, but 22" barrel.
I shoot a Jellyhead .660 with Hevi 13 in the 3" 2oz #7 load. I'd start with that factory X-full choke that came with it, I mic'd mine at .666 with a calibrated mic and run the Winchester LB shells in #5 through it, see what you get.
Good luck, keep us posted. Like your user name by the way. :icon_thumright:
Thats a Winchester 1300 turkey short. Just so you know. I bet you wont look back if you run an IC choke through that gun. Thats my favorite turkey gun. Not easy to come by. I have run dozens of different chokes through a half dozen different 1300's and IC usually cleans house.
I have two. One has and Indian creek and shoots 3" hevi #6. Nice even pattern. The second has a comp n choke .655 and shoots the long beard 3" #6. Really tight at twenty yards. 285 in the 10 at 40.
Try a search I've got some pictures posted.

you could try ssx 643 choke with hevi 13 #7 shot, my 22 inch barrel gets about 250 hits in 10 inch circle. My IC 660 with hevi #6 shot gets about 180 hits in 10 circle

Just shows you that every gun is different. My 22" barrel gets 242 hits with heavy #6's.through my IC 660.
This is why I have 15 different chokes for winchoke. Im always playing shells and choke combos.
its not about killing birds at this point.
