Looking at getting another new call but not sure what to get. I've heard good things about dawkins and platz calls but neither really stand out. Was wondering which to get on the wait list for? I'm looking for some sort of of pot call, maybe a slate or crystal?
You can't go wrong with either one of those guys. Both make great calls that are highly coveted. Paul's lead time is several month out right now, probably close to a year. You would have to check with Darrin, as he is hit and miss most of the time. You might luck up and he has a couple available or you might have to wait 2-3 months. Paul prefers to make a glass call versus crystal, but his glass has more pop than most crystal surfaces.
Ordered a Platz a week or two ago. He said he's probably about a year out.
If you don't have one already get ahold of Lonnie Sneed. I just got his Outlaw Hen and love it. If it came to a fight for only one pot in my vest it would be the Sneed vs. my Crystal Mistress.
in my opinion, Pauls cherry or maple slate would be my choice for a slate, Dawkins for his walnut crystal but for a glass call I just got my new walut glass over slate from Paul and its awesome. Scoot
