Dang!  Was the sapwood much softer or was it about the same across the whole blank?

Cool, was just curious if there was a tone factor that went into the selection of that one with possibly different hardness's. Love the two tone color to the wood. Real nice looking call, haven't seen anything quite like it. Metal soundboard or hammered metal finish?

To be honest it just looked neat as for sound I've turned this wood solid or with sap and they pretty much sound the same. The sound board is glass with hamer finish.
