  Thanks y'all. Forgot to post that I got him in Cherokee County, Alabama. He didn't have but a 9 inch beard but he was a 20 plus pound bird. They've been acting weird this year for me. I still have hens roosting, I figured they'd be setting by now, it seems they usually are anyway. The day before I killed this one I was working two longbeards in another field about 150 yards off, when a hen entered the field and the pair ran her off and went back to strutting. Had me questioning their sexual orientation.

Awesome gobbler! I've hunt gobblers 35yrs, I've only killed 3 that measured 1.5" or longer!! Hes a very special bird!!

I have called one in for a friend,,,that had 1.75 spurs in MO !! AND saw a bird killed 20 years ago that had a broken  spur on one side and a 2 INCH on the other,,,I am a spur man,,,I look at them before I look at the beard!!
