Title: On the 3rd Day of VA season struck it rich!!

After Chasing Birds for 3 days Finally Bagged this Boss this am!!  He gobbled a few times on roost then responded to a few tree calls.  After a fly down cackle with the dried wing I carry flapping he hit the ground and started to work in.  Could hear him spit and drum on the other side of the brush.  Only gobbled a few times on the ground but you could feel the ground shake!! 11.5 beard and nice spurs.  Will measure later!!  Wish I had a good way to weigh the bird!!  He was a heavy one!!

Nice bird.  Get on a bathroom scale with him, and without him.

I hunted this am before work...No Scales at work on on the way.  Changed clothes in the woods!!  I am going to buy a set of fish scales this evening for my truck.  He is in the work fridge now!!

nice one, congrats .....fish scales are a good  , but fwiw,  I've had a couple sets  that weren't  accurate when tested with known weights like 5 lbs sugar, 25 lbs shot, or barbell weights so maybe check them before use so you don't cut yourself short by accident.

that bathroom scales thing mentioned earlier is a good idea too.
