Title: Shot Some Longbeard XRs in my Mossy 535 and 835 Yesterday
Post by: vt35mag on April 13, 2015, 07:56:55 AM
Did some shooting yesterday to see how the Longbeards compared to my Hevi 13 patterns.  This is how it went.

535 22in Barrel - Non Ported - Honed & Polished
Pure Gold .670
3-1/2in 2oz LB #6
250 hit average in the 10 at 40yds
58-60 degrees
Slight breeze (2-4mph?)

Very impressed with this load.  It patterns exactly like my Hevi 13 3in 2oz #7. No better, no worse

835 24in Barrel - Ported - Polished
Star Dot .676
3-1/2in 2oz LB #4
140 hit average in the 10 at 40yds
58-60 degrees
Slight breeze (2-4mph?)

Pattern was good, doesn't seem like exceptional numbers.  However, it ends up being about 50-55% efficient.  I average 180 hits with Hevi 13 3-1/2 2-1/4oz #6 loads with this gun.

No noticeable POA/POI change from the Hevi 13 to LB's either.

I may try it, but typically my 835 always outperforms 3in with 3-1/2.  Not the case with the 535.  Never know until you try though.
