Title: Remembering a friend and killing turkeys
Post by: fallhnt on April 10, 2015, 10:57:34 PM
Well my friend and I just got back from a public land archery hunt in NE. and KS. Short version is, Sunday morning we doubled on big NE. longbeards. Monday was adjustments in KS. Tue. my buddy doubled in KS. and I put down a jake. Wed. afternoon a longbeard went down after passing on what I'm sure is a silver phase jake. Couldn't I.D. the black spot as a beard. Thur. my second NE. bird went down and we placed ashes of our turkey hunting buddy, who lost his fight with cancer, at the base of a lone oak tree in KS. That was his spot. We tried to get one more NE. bird for Rick but only saw hens. So we ended with seven and a memory of a past friend that will live on each time we return. God bless you Rich

Can't get my cell phone pics of the trip to download yet. Guess I have to re-size them?

Sounds like ya did him right. I know where you're coming from. Lost a great turkey hunting buddy to cancer last year.
