Hey guys, after reading a few reviews about the ssx .670 chokes in a 835, I talked myself into ordering one. There seems to be some mixed reviews on which does better. I know every gun will be different, just curious if there seemed to be a semi consistent shot size that was better with this setup. My gun is the mossy oak 24" barrel ulti. Thanks for all the help
I shoot the 3 1/2 inch #6 Longbeards and get a devastating pattern out of a 20' barrel on my mossberg 835 with the .670 SSX
It just depends on whether you like 5's or 6's better. I have a 24" 835 and an SSX choke. I have shot LB 5's and 6's. Both shoot patterns that would have no problem killing a turkey at 40 yds.
This is out of my 835
24" bbl
SSX .670
3.5" LB #6
25 & 40 yds
There were 267 in the 10" circle @ 40 yds
good looking pattern out of an 835
