Hey guys, just curious if anyone has any info on the carlson LBxr chokes. I just purchased one for my 835, and am eager to find some reviews, but have had no luck. I am planning on shooting 3.5 #6s LBxr. Thanks for any input
Sub'd to read reviews as well. Considering trying one in the future.

Have you had a chance to pattern it yet?

I purchased one of these last week, and I am glad I did. From my benelli M2 at 40yards with 3" LB XR 6 I had 198 pellets in a 10" circle.
3" LB XR 5s I shot 163 pellets at 40 yards in a 10" circle.

That's a pretty good pattern at 40 yards. I was wonting to buy one of those carlson long beard chokes my self. I think I will pick me one up now.
I'm curious about one also. Trulock makes them shot specific for the longbeards I'm curious about those as well

I patterned 5 different choke tubes earlier this week with my Browning Maxus at 50 yards using Winchester LongBeard #5 and #6 for each choke tube.
The LongBeard choke tube performed the best followed closely by Jebs. Indian Creek was laughable, HeviShot tube was ok and Kick's was best of the 3 worst.
I don't pattern short of 50 yards because it is pointless. I don't count pellets in a 10 inch circle. I count pellets in the head/neck kill zone.
The LongBeard choke placed 67 pellets in the kill zone. Jebs placed 47. The Longbeard choke was not as evenly distributed in what you would call a 10" circle as the Jebs but I'm killing a turkey not a circle.
I have pics I can email to anyone who wants to see them. I used the orange peel targets with the turkey head target at a laser ranged 50 yards after confirming each choke tube was firing online at 15 yards.
Yep, them IC's in a Browning with LB 5's is laughable...

Ok I bought one today. Came home shot 3 times with my 3" #6 shot longbeards. I had a ruff average of 240 pellets in the 10" circle at 40 yards. The most was 257. Shot with Mossberg 835 with .683 Carlson Longbeard XR
That's about 20 more than with my .675 GT however my 4's actually lost a few shot but with the XR choke they shoot almost poi with my 6's now. My GT wouldn't do that. 6's hit left and 4's hit right.

Patterned mine today at 35 yards using .665 choke 3" #5 at 40 yards and had 252 in a 10 inch circle.

The Carlson Chokes in this evaluation were the "Long Bead" chokes. Maybe you'll find this information helpful
