Not from TN, but love it there. Me and some family will be headed to Pickett County to turkey hunt at the end of April. I'm really looking forward to it!
My buddy from the Knoxville area is bringing his boy up today. We're opening the Illinois youth season tomorrow. Pretty country and nice people down there!
I live bout an hour away from picket and Knoxville both. I seen a big flock about a month ago in birdstown while working up there. And yes there are some good ppl round here. Best of luck to y'all and the young uns
I grew up south of Nashville in Franklin. Hunted a lot around Lebanon. Had a trip planned to go back this year but my private land connection fell through and my buddy and I couldn't justify spending that much money to hunt public land. Going to try again next year.
I live in Knoxville but hunt all over East Tenn. Eight days til Opening Day! Anybody going one the youth hunt this weekend? :anim_25: If so, let us know how the birds are acting.
Hey Magic Man, where you at? SHAKE AND BAKE!

Hunted a few places in Morgan Co. Used to hunt a lease near Sunbright quite a bit. I've hunted Lone Mtn before. And I usually go up to a buddy's farm once or twice a season in High Point.
Look forward to your update Trevor.

You almost hunted in my back door at Lone Mountain.
Going with a friend in the moring to help a kid who's dad has move on, and mother has legal problem. His Granny is excited about getting him involved in somthing. He lives across from my private hunting area and has been hearing them gobble in the moring. We are north of Nashville about 20 minutes near Springfield. The 100 bird flock is busitn up. I accidently push a gobbler off roost 2 days ago that was roosted by himself in a 10 patch of woods and last night we got a trail cam pic of a tom on the fence row bording the neighbors property where my buddy hunts.
Going this afternoon to set up a blind for the youth hunt, his very first time hunting.
East Tn, Newport, went last weekend to listen for birds heard nothing
Good luck in the morning, lets up know you all do.

I'm in Upper East Tennessee, Carter County. I will be taking my daughter in the morning on the youth hunt. This is her second year of turkey hunting. We are usually a little behind the rest of the state as its a little colder here and spring takes a couple of extra weeks to get here. I've seen turkeys strutting around in some places but I haven't heard any gobbling. It's cold as whiz right now and supposed to be cold and rainy tomorrow, so I hope we pick the right place to setup and one flies right down on us in the morning.

Very nice Whiskey, congrats to you both.
Thanks! You know the only bad part about tagging out 30 minutes after the weekend opens is the 1 bird limit. :(
I guess we'll have to go to the shooting range tomorrow.
She really mauled his head, Whiskey! How close was he??
I'm from Jefferson County in East TN. About 25 mins from Knoxville

17 yards. She is shooting softball size groups that close. I grabbed his head to pull him out of the truck and his neck sounded like a sack of gravel. ;D
Jack Daniel Country, Lynchburg, Moore County

Dickson county, and the birds were loud the last two days but nobody wanted to ride in the truck. It was cold as crap this morning, guess they all went to the local diner for coffee. Can't blame them.

I personally have never heard a bird over there. Seen very few on the bi-color side. Seen more birds in the genesis side. Most of the people that I have known to be successful hunted them like deer. Set up a blind next to a field and call every so often. Not my type of huntin.
Hanks harvester I prolly won't waste my time then.
