Title: Videoing solo?
Post by: BlakeJ on April 07, 2015, 02:39:27 PM
My wife usually videos for me, but she's gotta sit this season out being 8 months pregnant.

I might try to video a hunt solo. How difficult is it?

I've been doing it for 4 seasons now. It's rewarding. I use a Kodax Playsport camera and a small
Flexible tripod

Sent from my iPhone that I ain't smart enough to use with tapatalker

It can definitely be done, but it's also definitely harder. More stuff for you to carry. More movement for you to make. Gotta get the bird in the frame, transition back to the gun without getting busted, then hope he doesn't move out of frame before you shoot.  :anim_25:

I run a Campbells Turkey set up and it helps a ton. I also have a remote that is awesome for saving battery/sd card time. Be sure to keep set up out of your shooting area and to have plenty cover. I usually make a quick blind and have the camera pre focused on a jake decoy. Good Luck!

I have the past couple years, it can be hard, but worth it.
