Title: Mossberg Camo durability
Post by: longislandloco on April 01, 2015, 10:18:08 PM
Need some info, how does the camo ware on the Mossberg magazine tubes, after a few shooting sessions do you find bare metal showing as on the blued guns.

I've had one for years that shows very little wear and has held up well to use, but with all things Mossberg one can never be sure. The camo dip seems to be leaps and bounds more durable than their blued guns. If I wasn't in the process of moving I'd take her out and post a few pics of the area in question.

Ive got a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag in Mossyoak camo. It is 8 years old and shows very little wear on the tube. In fact all the areas of the gun that you would think should show wear marks are in great shape. It is holding up well.

Newer ones are not that good seem to turn white or rub off quick.  Old ones from early and later 90's are great in old mossy oak treestand, army camo or 20-200 hardwoods.

My 935 is the only camo Mossberg I own and it's held up exceptionally well over the years. I had one of the old camo 835s when they first came out but let a friend have that one. All the others are either wood/blue or black synthetic/black.

Recently, I got another 835 barrel, 28", so we'll see how it holds up.

Thanks,
Clark

I had a 500 I bought in the late 90s, carried it for a few years and the factory woodland camo looked great.  Watch the DEET bug spray, that will eat the camo paint right off the gun.
