Title: First Time
Post by: StrutStopper_71 on March 27, 2015, 09:45:32 PM
I am going to try my hand at bow hunting in the morning for the first time ever. I have killed plenty with a gun but never tried a bow. I will also be hunting on public land here in Florida to make things more interesting. I am super excited and also nervous and cannot wait until morning.

Are you using a blind and decoys? I thought about trying to bow hunt one myself.

Good luck!! Bowhunting turkeys is a great, but rewarding challenge.

Glad to hear you're going to give it a try.  I absolutely love it!  I don't use a blind or decoys.  You must make 100% sure his head is hidden before you draw or he'll be gone before you even get the pin settled.  Also, keep at it.  It may take multiple call ins before a shot presents itself.  Good luck!

Well the bow hunt deffintly humbled me this weekend. I had a great time and got on two different birds but about 75 yards was as close as I got one they are pretty henned up. But I am deffintly going to give them another try in a few weeks.
