Title: Sumtoy question
Post by: Fieldturkey on March 26, 2015, 08:14:21 PM
He guys, I recently got a Sumtoy for my 87@. When I look inside the choke there are some burrs along the grooves that run down the choke. They are small but the catch the bore snake when I pull it through. Anybody else seen this? Probably nothing to worry about. Just curious. Thanks

Call William I guarantee you that he will tell you if it is wrong and make it right if it is.

The choke throws great patterns and I am really pleased with it. Its just tears the snake up

Just clean the barrel with a different choke in.

I'm interested in knowing whether or not those burrs exist by design. Any feedback will be appreciated.

There should not be burrs inside a choke. There should be channels or rings but not sharp burrs.

They are definitely small burrs along the channels that run down the choke. Very small but they stick up. Mostly at the muzzle end

Just shoot the gun a few times and they'll probably be gone.

Hopefully with as many guys shooting them, someone can take theirs out and look down it.

I had 2 and neither had burrs. You shouldn't  have to freaking "shoot" them out either.  I'm not bashing sumtoy by any means but there shouldn't be sharp burrs in a choke tube.  The 2 i had where smooth minus the channels and the wad catchers.

Mine has a few little tabs in the grooves, the rest is smooth...

Don't think it's an important issue....
