Post by: jakesdad on March 23, 2015, 05:46:19 PM
I have an older Remington 11-48 with a fixed full choke I would like to try.Anybody got any recommendations for a decent load to try? Not looking to set the world on fire, just a good solid hunting load.

have not tried any of the rooster xr shells yet, but I can say that the federal flight control shells do very go out of fixed full chokes

I bought up ten boxes of 2 3/4 Winchester XX Magnum turkey 6's several years ago.

They patterned great through a older wingmaster with fixed full. Shot them for several years through my Winchester model 12.

They are amazing through my 870 express with a remington super full. Really impressive for a 2 3/4 shell out to 40 yards.

Those fixed full choke guns were good to 30 yards.

If you run across some of the Winchester 2-3/4" XX Magnums, those #5's are bad %^&
the Winchester grey box ammo is some good shooting ammo
