Title: optimum barrel length for 20 gauge.

Anyone using a 28" barrel for turkey hunting? I was informed it was needed to maximize the the capability of the 20. Thanks for any information.

Nothing wrong with the 28" barrel but certainly not needed for the 20 gauges full potential.  I have had very good patterns with 21" and 26" barrels.  I prefer the compact size of the 21" barrel, just shoot what you have and chances are with the right choke and load combination you will have a turkey killer.

I have both 21" and 26" guns, I like the 21" the best
