Title: 4s vs 6s
Post by: ThunderChickenGetter on March 16, 2015, 11:44:35 PM
If I could get 140-150 4s out of my 835 with longbeards would that be a better hunting pattern than 250 or so 6s at 40yds?

You just gotta kill some paper and find out.  Either of your target numbers will work provided the pattern in relatively even.

For a hunting pattern I do a 20" count also and look for holes.  My money will be on the 6's winning that one.  High 10" numbers are great but if my 20" pattern is weak I'm finding a new shell.

Either will work.

I would go with 5s as well.

You can't really go wrong with either. Bone crushing 4s or mass trauma 6s. or... good suggestion on using 5s lol

4's, 5's, and 6's all shot well in my gun but I went with the 4's for the smack. We also have a good population of coyote.
