Wondering how everyone in Alabama and Mississippi is making out so far?!
One turkey gobbled twice. Once in the tree before daylight and once at about 830, he gobbled at a distant gun shot. In north central alabama. From what folks are saying, they are not gobbling yet.
Cancelled my vacation cause it was dead. Hunted hard and never heard a bird.
dead quite in my part of Ms. all weekend
I hunted Sam R. Murphy wma this morning till about 10:30 and never heard a bird. Just crows and squirrels.
Talked to some hunters in central MS Saturday on my way back from New Orleans. They hadn't heard a bird on opening day. They thought rain had shut them down.
Didn't hear a gobble all weekend in Mississippi. My buddy heard one gobble twice sunday morning. Chuck
0-3 for hearing a Ms bird.
Heard 3-4 every morning gobble a few times and had a neighbor poach a bird off my place probably my worst opening weekend ever
Heard a bird going good for awhile saturday and Sunday across the river, but I know for a fact I have some birds and they were quiet!
wow , I am really fortunate. heard birds yesterday and today. finally killed one yesterday morning some time between 9 and 930. 5 gobbled at least 100 times between them. this morning heard 2. one shut up when he hit the ground. the other gobbled until 830. hens were all around him. had to leave and go to work at 9.
I'm also wondering how everyone in Bama is doing! :D
I killed one this weekend (the one in my avatar). I'm in central Mississippi. He was by himself and hot

Heard one bird mid morning Saturday gobble a few times. Nothing on Sunday. I'm hunting in North MS.
I hunt in north alabama and right over the Tennessee line not far from Mississippi. Birds were gobbling good Tuesday morning
My land is southeast mississippi and I heard a ton of gobbling on opening day. Saw two gobblers and missed my opportunity at one because I set my gun down to stretch :(
killed one opening morning in west central bama...very little gobbling but enough to get the job done. 3 toms still together didn't start gobbling until 8:00
Hunted south alabama this past weekend. Struggled pretty bad had a couple gobble in the tree never gobbled once they hit the ground. They also flew down really late which surprised me. Happened both mornings on 2 separate birds. Hens where talking loud and clear tho. Glassed a couple in a field and try to get on them but couldn't get them to corporate.
I killed one this past weekend, he was on fire. Went back out today (same land) and heard zip. Trying out a new spot in the morning. I'm in central Mississippi (http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/19/8baed33303cb1c391bc3c7bceb4f2f49.jpg)

It was tough the first few days. I did get close opening morning, but struck out the next 2 days. I saw fresh scratching and gobbler tracks all over, but they were tight lipped. TONS of ppl too
has been very slow in Southwwest Alabama. My grandson missed one last Sunday and I missed one Friday. those were the only birds I have called to the gun. Have heard very little gobbling and seen about six or seven birds in seven days of hunting.
Hunting on a 3200 acre club in Wilcox County. We have killed zero birds so far with several guys hunting.
Weather has not been a factor. In fact , it has been in the 80's nearly every day except today it is raining.
