Title: Choke for a supernova.
Post by: LARRYHAYNES on March 14, 2015, 09:59:35 PM
I've asked this question before for a friend bc I know nothing about benelli's. I figured out that there are 2 different choke styles. He has a newer gun and I believe it requires the mobile choke if I'm saying that right. He's gonna be shooting #4 lead. Suggestions  and am I right about the mobile choke thread style?

You are correct. Both Nova and Super Nova use the Mobil threaded chokes.

Benelli shotguns have tighter i.d. barrels than many other shotguns. All things being equal, internal geometry for example, they pattern better with chokes with a tighter exit diameter. The Hevi-13 (ported) choke and the SSX are best in my experience.

Few guns/chokes pattern well with #4 shot but the WLB shells are more likely to give him good patterns than other lead loads.

Thanks,
Clark

660 should do good with the 4's.
