Title: Saddle mount for rem 11-87 twenty gauge
Post by: cluck on March 12, 2015, 10:51:49 PM
What brand saddle mount would you use for a ff3 ? This is a compact youth model 11-87. Iam concerned about the mounts being to high making it needful to raise your head off the stock. And can you use the protector on just any saddle mount? It's my understanding that you can't drill and tap the receiver. It's to thin. Many thanks for any information!      Cluck

I drilled and tapped mine, I used one piece of a two piece base set.  Keep both holes in the thicker metal behind where the barrel comes into the receiver.  I have a B-Square saddle mount laying in my safe for a 20 gauge 11-87/870 if you are interested in it.
