Title: Oklahoma Rio Turkey Outfitters Recommendations
Post by: Drthorn on March 10, 2015, 10:00:44 PM
I had posted a thread about an outfitter in OK to see if anyone had experience and none responded, so I thought I would leave it open ended.

If you have done a rio hunt in OK and have any suggestions, please let me know. Would like to keep it under $1000. Thanks in advance.

Legend Waterfowl in Taloga, OK.  Great guy, a total waterfowl fanatic but he has lots of land loaded with Rios. Phone #580 330 1493. I think he has a one bird hunt under $1000.  I went wild last year and killed 3.

I'll second Legend Waterfowl.  Shot my 3 last year there too unguided.

Todd Rogers with rut and strut guide service runs a good operation out of elk city. Has plenty of birds.

Windmill outfitters and rush creek guide service. Been to windmill 3 times and rush creek twice killed 2 birds on each trip. Heading back to rush creek again this year.

Does the turkey package include lodging? I'd love to hear more about them

We are hunting with Rush Creek Guide service in Texas and go from there and hunt with Windmill Outfitters in Oklahoma. I will also stay a few days after my hunt and guide some at Windmill. I have hunted Windmill the past two years and filled all my tags both years. Really a first class hunt.

Yes, includes meals and lodging.  Lodging is first class by the way and so are the meals.  Troy is also just a great guy.  Wish I could have gone back this year but wife planned a Disney vacation and I already had a WY and SD hunt booked from 2 years ago.  Should be back in OK next year though and am hoping to hit TX too.

I have hunted with Keith at Windmill Outfitters three times.  I don't know that I could find half his properties on my own even now.  He has so many places.  Great hunting with great folks.  Good luck this spring. :icon_thumright:
