Went out this morning and got up before the alarm, took a shower got dress hit the woods waiting for the sun to come up. I wait some more and thought it was staying dark for awfully long time; I finally looked at my watch and realized I got up and dress and hour early. I had an hour to kill so I pulled out my owl call and immediately called in a large Barred Owl and he landed in the same tree I had my back against. We talked for awhile and more owls joint in and the gobblers started to gobble to the owls. The moon was almost full this morning, very bright. Call in seven Jakes this morning, no mature birds yet, looks like a good crop for the next few years. Going out in the morning.
Here are a few photos from this morning:

Nice pics man! After my dry season last year I would have been tempted.
I called in four Jakes yesterday morning, they came in hard and fast, could not get the camera up. The stop about 15 feet in front of me looking for the hen, when they could not find her they all started clucking and carrying on a conversation. It was a good morning to be in the woods. Have not seen a mature bird yet.
