I'm thinking about buying a new gun and just wanting to see what you all have to say about them.

Just depends on what you want, both are excellent shotguns,  if it was me I would go look at different ones, that will give an idea of what fit you best.

The 935 I believe is pretty much the same as the 835. Open forcing cone and oversized barrel that's very beneficial. I prefer the Remingtons for the most part yet always hunt w an 835

The 1187 I had jammed a lot with 3.5" shells and it was heavy. Got an sx3 and never looked back!

I said this in a pervious thread. find a dealer and shoulder both guns. both guns will flat out kill turkeys! but buy the one that fits you best.

I have the 935 and would reccomend it. Patterns great and IMO its a great tukey gun. The only knock i give the 935 is its size and weight compared to similar guns on the market. Also,IMO the 935 does a great job taming the recoil of heavy loads.Patterning last year, to me the 935 shooting 3.5"s kicked less than my old 870 express with 3". 11-87 is a great gun too. I have a few buddies who use them and like them alot. If you plan on shooting 3.5"s id buy the 935. If your gonna shoot 3" youll do just fine with the 11-87. Id also look into a Franchi Affinity. IMO its a better gun than both of them.If i had to do it all over again thats the gun id have.

I will give you a few reasons why I have a 935

1) Ambidextrous safety (I shoot left handed) but when turkey hunting you may have situations where you are shooting either way. I have killed turkeys right handed because they did not show up on the correct side :)
2) Overbored barrel (essentially the dimensions of a 10ga barrel)  They through amazing patterns.
3) Pre-drilled for optics (Put a scope on mine and it did not require tapping the receiver or special mounts that make it more difficult to take apart and clean)
4) Priced right (I bought an all black 26" barrel brand new for $525 from budsguns)

Remington is a fine shotgun too but if you are buying a shotgun strictly for turkey hunting then a 935 with a pistol grip stock is a no brainer in my opinion.
