I have a Remington 870 12 gauge 3inch with the old bottomland with a 20 inch barrel. Yes 20 inch barrel.
Load/choke combos for this set up please. It's a 1994 model for you guys who are wise on the old barrels
I have a short barrel Weatherby. I have had great luck with longbeard 6's and a SumToy choke. Please post a picture of your gun.. I would love to see it!!!
here she is..bottom gun
Right now I have a sumtoy in it but haven't shot it yet. I also have a jellyhead .660 and .665 for other Remingtons and I can mix and match what I got.
I bet that JH .660 is gonna shine out of that gun...
I bet the sumtoy will work good. I know with my 20" 835 it don't put the 10" #'s as my longer barrel. But it's a better hunting pattern if that means anything to you. I would rather have a little more forgiveness in my hunting gun(meaning a good even 15-16" pattern). That's just my preference. Witch I could have cleanly killed the last 25 birds I've taken with a cylinder bore with low brass 8's. I really wonder sometimes if I shouldn't go back to like a regular full or modified choke. But every time that thought goes through my head I'm like nah, I'll just try to takes his head off. Lol
SWEET Shotgun!!! :fud: :OGani:

There was a flush mounted turkey choke that came with those barrels and it was excellent. I had one, may still have one, and will look for it, if I find it, I'll mic it and see what it says on it.
