Title: Hunting from a stand.
Post by: deerbasshunter3 on February 24, 2015, 10:23:09 PM
I had always heard/been told that it is illegal to hunt turkey from a stand. I just looked through my state's turkey regulations, and nowhere in there does it say anything about not being able to hunt from a stand. I have no intention of doing so, but it does seem to me as though it is legal.

In bama it is illegal to hunt from an elevated platform. I have done it in other states under the same conditions described by surehuntsalot.

That is one thing about turkey hunting I love, no stands!!!! After deer season my butt will start to hurt just looking at them in the Spring.

Number 5.  Appears you can bow hunt them, if I'm reading it right.

Once I did watch another member here smoke a nice tom while he was on the ground and I was watching from a box. We set up with me in the box him about 7 yards In Front of the box. Was cool to watch the hunt go down from above, I was able to see the bird long before my buddy.
