The first time I done this I didn't like how it turned out so stripped out and re-blued the gun.
My 12ga 870 is only used for Spring Turkey hunting and I am want a pattern with a good amount of green in it.
Should I do the base coat in an OD Green and use some patterns to add some brown and some black?
Given what I am wanting I would really like some advise and the colors to use and which you would use for base cost and so on.

I used a white primer then put a couple coats of forest green I believe was the color. Then I got a sponge and spayed the other colors in a cup and dipped the sponge in it and started blotching it all over once I thought it was good enough. I let it dry and then put several coats of matte clear over it. I'll post some pics. I'll see how long it last if it holds good I'll do the same on the next one. This summer I might strip one of them back down and try to make it look more like a bottomland pattern.

I used a tan base coat and would not recommend black.

I used the Krylon camo spray paint. Tan, green, and brown. I initially wanted to do a paint job similar to dirt road ninja but ended up using a sponge paint technique. You can Google "sponge paint camouflage" to see all kinds of techniques. I kinda wish I had made bigger splotches but overall I am pleased.

I used no primer and also stated using a tan base coat on the scattergun. That is incorrect, I used two shades of green and a brown. The lightest shade was the base coat. I find it better to work from light to dark.
