Hello everyone,
Long time reader here and just recently started posting. I finally ended my hunt for a good turkey gun that wouldn't break the bank. I just picked up one of the old school Mossberg 835s with the "corncob" forearm and old style camo. Very happy with this purchase as the gun looks to be in great shape. Quick question is what choke and ammo combo would you guys recommend using for this one? I was thinking about trying a Sumtoy choke with some Hevi #7s or mag blend in it, but any advice is appreciated!

Im pretty happy with my IC and longbeard 3.5 #5
good luck with the old 835
chokes in the .675 .680 range seems to work the best, but some guys get good results with .690 chokes
That's a great gun, my son has one identical to it. I shoot an old Star Dot .676 in mine. William at Sumtoy would build you an excellent choke I am sure.
