Title: Kansas man dies after tick bite....
Post by: mastevt on February 21, 2015, 09:16:33 AM
I know this isn't a direct turkey call topic, but it's very relative to us with turkey season fast approaching.  We need to be very diligent in protecting ourselves against tick bites.  There was a recent discovery of another tick transmitted virus here in MO, and now this in KS.  Please people, protect yourselves out there, and treat  your clothes with Permethrin.  Sawyer is what I use, and can be picked up almost anywhere.

Its always good to keep around a fresh reminder.  I know a man who died from complications stemming from a tick bite.  In his case, the tick went unnoticed in his ear canal.  Physicians could not figure out what was wrong until after the fact.

I've gotten dozens of tick bites in Bourbon County, but not since 2011.....
