I am from N. Alabama. I have alot of really good turkey hunting in the southern part of the state. I am wanting to travel out of state and hunt this year. I am open to suggestions. Trying to figure what direction to travel. Would like to keep in the 4-5 hr drive range.
Lot's of good hunting in Tennesee..4 birds limit.
Hey TC, there are a few of us from PA heading your way March 21st. We are staying in Brent, Alabama. Are the bird populations good near there in the Talladega NF and Cahaba NWF? We will be there for 4 days then heading to Miss for 4 days.
Alaska... I hear there is very low turkey hunting pressure there.
(Sorry, I couldn't help myself).
Where in miss are you going?
I have personally never hunted the National Forest but, I know there are birds there. What I understand is that it is hunted quite a bit and you really have to get off of the beaten path to find them. Any public land in Alabama is going to be that way. Good luck, hope ya'll kill a limbhanger.
Thanks TC, figured there would be pressure. No different than here in PA I guess. Hey Jcour4 we are hunting Tombigbee NF in Miss
I see, I've hunted over there when I went to mississippi state. It's not a bad spot, if you need any help on that side of the state I can point you to a few places to check out. I live in the delta now so don't make it over there too often anymore.

:newmascot: Agree Tennessee, well within your 4>5 drive. Where in N. Alabama? My area is about 1 hr west of Florance, North of Pickwick Lake. Send me a note may be able to hook up, 4 birds here not a bad deal at all. :funnyturkey:
