Title: Longbeard XR magnum
Post by: tonybforua on February 15, 2015, 02:25:37 PM
Has anybody shot these shells yet. Picked up a box of 3.5 #5 2 1/8 Oz at the NWTF convention. Maybe a week before weather gets good enough to try them out.

Yep, patterned some 6's in 3.5 inch last year and to my amazement....they shot nearly as well as Hevi 7's from my gun and choke......and at half the price

The lb magnums that the op is referencing just came out this. I believe you might have mixed up the "old" longbeards and this years new product with an added 1/8th oz of shot.

Finally got to shoot them got 193 at 40. Orginally counted 187 but recounted 193 twice.

that is a great looking pattern at 40, better check that combo  at 20-25 yds and see what is going on, looks like it will be shooting like a rifle
