Aaaawwwwhhh yeah... First *new* turkey gun in about ... 10 years! My b-day is coming up next Friday, and my wife made the mistake of asking me what I wanted, and of *COURSE* I said, "A new turkey gun..." and she was like, "How many guns do we need???!!"...
Welp, I'm super-stoked; a buddy of mine had gotten a sweetheart deal on an 870 Super Mag that he decked out with a gun grip, etc. and he brought it over & I couldn't believe how light-weight it was!! Any-HOO, as soon as day breaks, I've got a turkey paper target I'm gonna blast with some Rem Nitro 3" 5's & see what happens -- virgin blast comin' shortly, along with more pics & video!!!

Nice!
Congratulations! That's sharp. You'll love that sureshot stock. :z-guntootsmiley:
Very Nice... Congrats.....
Congrats on the new ZZ Tops Gun .(sharp dressed gun)
Thx guys! Yes, the ShurShot stock is *nice*; definitely something I'll need to get used to, but I like the position I'm in w/that stock in the "turkey pose" sitting position...
Hey, can anybody confirm that the stock Wingmaster HD choke tube in this gun is .675 constriction, like this says right here: http://www.shopremingtoncountry.com/ProBore-Choke-Wingmaster-HD-Gauge/dp/B00J47NFTS
If so, that's pretty good... I believe I've read other posts on here where hunters with the same gun & factory choke are getting pretty decent results with their patterns... Am ALL EARS on the best shell for the factory setup; I'll monkey with choke tubes & what-not later on... Pretty dang happy w/the gun, straight from the assembly line!
Congrats on the new gun
.660 Jellyhead has worked wonders in those 870's.

Gman - 10-4, I've seen some of the posts about that combo, and yeah! I'm a TightWad user myself & have found good results with it; may be time to check out the Jellyhead... What shells have you seen folks use with that choke? I have to say -- I'd really like to get the LongBeards to work in this gun; they're just ... too strong of a shell to ignore...

If I'm not mistaken the pro bore is only in the new versa max guns. Your pic looks like an 870 which would have ten chokes

So... do you know the constriction of the regular ole Wingmaster HD RemChoke Turkey/Predator? I pulled the choke out & that's what is written on the outside, just like the one in this pic...
I shoot the same gun with a 21" barrel. Mine loves longbeard 3.5/2/6 out of the hevi .662 choke. The factory wingmaster choke didn't do so hot out of it.
Shot the gun this morning, before work...
1st shot w/bird shot @ 20 yards: http://youtu.be/pSXnVoy4cbc
2nd shot w/Remington Nitro 3" 5's: http://youtu.be/YleUrcUKU14
:) Can you say, "got a little excited!" ??!! hahaha... Oh well, I'll get this thing on some bags & try 'er again @ 30 & 40 & maybe even 50/60... The bird shot was a Remington HeavyDove load, and it got 267 bbs in an 8" square on the paper...
I beleive that choke is .670. My buddy has that choke in his 870 turkey/predator and he shoots 3.5" Win supreme Hi Velocity # 5s with good results.
I have the same gun...you wont be disappointed!!!!! Congrats :z-guntootsmiley:

So far, you're 100% right; love it! :)
Congrats on the turkey killer.
:z-guntootsmiley: :z-guntootsmiley: I love Remington's and you will too!
My father in law has one just like it he is thinking about selling, if he decides to I will own it. They shoot really good patterns with the jellyhead

Yep!
I have the same gun as u, got it last year. I have .665 jellyhead shooting 3.5" #6 longbeards, at 40 yds. I got 247 hits in 10" circle. Some folks say its too tight for up close, but I shot one bird at about 10- 15 yds. and another at about 40yds. Was going to try 5s just to see how they did but never got around to it. Good luck and enjoy your new gun.
I have had that same gun for a good while. Mine does great with a .665 Indian creek tube and various nitro ammo loads and hevi 13 loads.
Much has been said about this combo in other posts lately. Lots of great choke tubes out there for it and several good loads. Have fun with it.

Yep; I got some #6 3.5" LB"s last night; gonna try this out of stock factory choke first, and then proceed from there.

10-4; thx for your experienced "tip"; there has been a lot written, it's kinda tough to wade through & find all the posts... But, bottom line -- VERSATILE GUN with MANY OPTIONS available to it... I look forward to using it this turkey season, and hopefully MANY to come!! Thx man!
Nice!!! Congrats on your new turkey slayer!! :fud: :turkey:
Congrats on a great turkey Rig.
.650 Sumtoy or .660 rhino with the 2.25ounce hevi13 6's or mag blend.
Ditch the lead and start shooting some HTL.
Thx again, guys; I'm really looking forward to hunting w/this new 870...

For sure, man; I've been using HTL for years now...
I had the same stock on my 870 SM..... Took it off..... I had a hard time with the cheek rest bruising the side of my face.... I shoot magnum blend 3" out of a hevi-13

Put the same stock on my 870 when it first came out and took it off. Had to really dig my check down into it or I would shoot high. Always felt like I'd been in a fight for a few days after shooting a turkey. Sold it and went back to the regular stock. I think it would have been great if I used a scope. My gun shoots great with longbeard 5's and a comp-n-choke. Chuck
Very nice!! Congrats!!
I have exact same gun with kicks gobbling thunder 665 in it . Winchester longbeards #5 3.5. Super nice set up and throws a tight pattern.
Yep, bamagtrdude and me will be getting it done in the Sipsey here real soon. Here is the boomstick that inspired him to get the gun that made me drool.
