I bought a couple 5 packs of Heavyweight #7's for my 20 ga. last week and thought I'd check out the same in 3" 12 ga. I have a habit of opening and checking out the ammo inside. Both 5 packs (all they had) of 12 ga had the ends bulging to the point of opening up. The boxes were a bit worn, so no doubt at least last year's product. I also read some comments on Cabelas site that the Longbeards had bulged also, to the point that they would not cycle thru the European semi autos. I've had the Hevi 13's leak the buffer, but they never bulged. Anyone else notice any of this?
I've seen that on both Federal and Winchester shells before.
I shot some 20 gauge Fed 7s with no adverse effects. They cycled and patterned fine.
Call the manufacturer, they WILL replace them , there isn't a ammo company in existence that won't take back damaged or defective product

The 20 gauge ammo that I bought was fine. The 12 gauge I didn't buy was bulged. I am mad at myself for not bringing it to someone's attention. When I get back home I'm gonna call the store and have them check them and hopefully remove them.
