Title: New gun shooting high
Post by: ep427 on February 07, 2015, 05:22:39 PM
Traded for a like new Mossberg 835 Turkey with thumb hole stock and 20in barrel. Went out and shot some today and with the Mossberg sights it was shooting 18 to 20in high. Took the back sight off and still a couple inches high. Is this a common problem?

What do you have for sights on it?

It had the Mossberg sights. I may end up putting a red dot or scope. But really would just like open sights of some sort.

2 things to do...

1) take the choke out and put it back in
2) if poi is still that high try the magnum gobble dot adjustable sights from tru glo since you like the idea of no scopes

Factory sights on those guns are complete garbage, get a good red dot or the magnum gobble dots, that should iron that issue out quick!

Mine shoots high also, along with my 935.  The truglo Magnum Gobble dot pro series fixed mine.  The front sight on those sits extra high which brings your pattern down in itself.

My 835 sights were junk...... Get the Williams slugger fire sights...... Put em on my 835 and LOVE EM'
