I got a new Remington 870 super mag with a 24 inch barrel. Found it on gunbroker and its a little older model according to the serial number. Think it was manufactured in the early 90s. Anyway trying to figure out what choke i should go with. I am planning on shooting the nitros because thats what i shoot with my mossberg and i have extras to shoot with the Remington. I have had good luck with them and thats what ill stick with for now, may try some winchester long beards down the road. So my question is what you think will pair well with the Remington and the nitros. Thinking either a Rhino (my mossberg has one and shoots well) or should i go with the indian creek? or maybe something else. Any Advice??
JH 660 or Sumtoy has been killer in my remingtons
Have not tried the Indian Creek, or any of the newer chokes through my Remington 11-87 with 21" barrel, I bought a Rhino .660 years ago and got excellent results with the Nitro's and Heavy Blends. Have yet to try the Long Beards but do plan on trying them as soon as we get some 60's around here. I do not remember what the pellet count was with the Nitro's but it was impressive. I got in the 220's with Heavy Blends 3".
Good luck

If you're shooting one of Nitro's Hevi Shot loads, I'd say Rhino or Jelly Head as suggested on their website. The Jelly Head and the Hevi Shot is deadly out of my daughter's 870 youth 20ga.
.665 IC + nitros + 3.5" 870 = :newmascot: :newmascot:
Okay so it sounds like a toss up between the Rhino IC and the Jellyhead when shooting the nitros. Do y'all think one of these chokes will our perform one another shooting the Longbeards. I eventually plan on shooting long beards down the road.

x2. With the straight 7s I got 280 in a 10" circle at 40 yards on a cold day.
