What is a good choke and shell combination for this gun and what kind of pattern are you getting?
On the top right search the encore. I haven't seen a whole lot of talk about those, but I'm sure someone on here at some point has. Wade through that stuff and see what you come up with. I think this forum slows down a bit too on the off season. I even googled encore turkey choke and one of the first hits was from this site.... I lust for an encore pro hunter
Call sumtoy you can google his website he will fix you up
My encore 12 ga throws great numbers with a cheap HS undertaker choke and LB 5's.
20Ga or 12?
That is one likes something in the 650 to 660 range. Now it has a BIG POP to it when you touch it off.
:you_rock: I use a encore I sent it to rob Roberts and had the barrel done I had the cone done and he changed the barrel from a 3 in to be able to take a 3.5 shell I bought a sumtoy .660 and it is a monster kicks like a dam horse I use hevi 7 shot ,,, the gun is outstanding the barrel is also the rib barrel model with the pro mag gobble dot tru glo sights

You have a very large choice of brands of chokes and shells. I would choose a good load that has enough range without any undue punishment. As you know, that gun can have a pretty good kick. Most of my readers who shoot that gun use 3" Hevi-13 shells with 2 oz. of either #6 or #7 shot and the SSX has been their first choice in chokes. What we've all been looking for is a 10" dense pattern with few if any 2" or larger gaps and a 12" to 15" halo pattern to allow for any misjudgement or movement on the part of the shooter or the turkey. That combination should deliver that.
Thanks,
Clark
