Eotech was too high for me as well . I have a fast fire III on my SBE 2 . The delta point got redisigned   and looks promising . Vortex has a new sight called a Venom . Aimpoint redid the micro and it may be the leader in the small sight market but comes at a premium price . The fast fire hasn't failed me . I looked at replacing it this year but I can't justify replacing it .

I've had about every high end red dot optic on my sbe, and now I use the ff3 and like it a lot.  It's light and durable and they have a lifetime warranty.  The only downside is I would prefer more intensity settings but overall it's size and weight are what won me over.

For the lowest profile can't beat the fastfire using the speedbead mount. ......plus you can still use the beads on the rib if need be

Can't argue with trijicon quality.  I've always liked the triangle, put the tip right under where you want instead of covering it with something.  But maybe that's not the best solution for shotgunning.

FF3 with a speedbead is the lowest way to go period.
