Post by: tha bugman on January 28, 2015, 05:26:19 PM
Can the safety for a Remington 870 be swapped around for a left hander?

Nope, I just went though this with an 760 Rem that I bought, had to swap it for a RH safety.

I wouldn't recommend messing with the safety. Lots of things can go bad. They're not made to flip due to the way that the detents are drilled in the safety and housing. Flip kits will do it but if it's not done perfectly it's got the potential to go real bad. The only safe way to do it is to call Remington and order a left hand safety trigger assembly for a right handed gun. They don't stock them but will build one. All they have to do is still the detent hole offset to the other side.
